About John Kyle Sutton

IMG_0714.jpeg

John Kyle Sutton was born in Boise, Idaho, to his mother, Karen Marie Strahler, and his father, John Eric Sutton (after whom he was named). Throughout his upbringing, he was called by his middle name, "Kyle."

After his parents divorced when he was just five years old, Kyle spent his time daydreaming on school and city buses between his mother's and father's homes. This creative escapism led to a passion for writing, acting, and extracurricular video productions. Producing skits and movies helped a young, very reserved Kyle find a way to express himself.

Having physical fitness instilled in him from an early age by his father, Kyle was always on another planet. Whether using the walk-in shower of his parents' bathroom to transport him through time as the Terminator, or riding around the suburbs with a plastic sword sheathed in the back of his t-shirt collar pretending to be He-Man, JK's imagination was always at play.

His father encouraged sports during his childhood, which led Kyle to play football, baseball, soccer, and run track throughout primary school. It wasn't until the hit anime series, Dragon Ball Z, that he found a passion for weight training, finding it both energizing and meditative through the main character's training philosophy of "level up." JKS acted in and produced several short films and one feature film in primary school, but it wasn't until his studies at Boise State University that he co-wrote, produced, and starred in his first festival-worthy full-length comedic feature, All Night. The movie won the 2011 Golden Reel award at the Nevada Film Festival. That same year, JKS graduated with undergraduate degrees in Spanish and business with an emphasis in entrepreneurship, and minors in dramatic arts and video production. In 2012, he moved to Los Angeles and joined the Screen Actors Guild in 2015.

John Kyle currently lives in Los Angeles, California, working as an actor, writer, and producer. He recently released "Sazon y Fuego," a musical side-project where he sings and raps in Spanish, now streaming on all platforms. He's also developing two feature films (see upcoming projects.)
